Monsters of ’88 REVISITED!

Flynn’s Live presents “The Monsters of ’88 Revisited” show, celebrating the Monsters of Rock tour’s 1988 roster of Metallica, Dokken, The Scorpions, and Van Halen. “A show that left it’s mark on a generation of Heavy Metal music fans for decades, including myself.” – Flynn

The concept: Featuring a group of professional Tribute bands representing the four major headliners from the ‘88 tour, along with decor, costumes and props that reflect the era and the musicians. Featured guitars, either reproduction line or custom made, will hang around the venue that were seen being played by EVH, George Lynch, Metallica and The Scorpions.

A guitar builder himself, as a kid Flynn was originally inspired to start building when he learned Ed made all his own guitars.

Edward Van Halen Guitar Memorial – at The Rainbow Bar & Grill

This is a Fan driven, and Fan desired part of the event. Since no official Tribute event is planned, we’ve decided to throw a Fan-based Memorial around the inspiration Guitar Builders from around the world drew from Ed’s Luthiery, and passionate pursuit of the perfect guitar design.

And since Van Halen was signed right in the heart of The Sunset Strip, and right after a show at The Whisky, these two venues are the perfect locations to honor the guitar wizard himself.

Fan-made and owned Guitar Display: Owners and makers are invited to display their Frankies!

Planned to be hosted at The Rainbow Bar & Grill as a bi-location event, a display of about 20-30 versions of guitars designed and made by EVH. Replicas, customs, reproductions, etc. on-loan by fans of EVH, collectors, and guitarists alike. The Frankenstrat, 5150 Kramer, the headless Steinberger 5150, Bumblebee, Black and White, Circles, and any other guitars available within theme. (Display Equipment to be provided by loaner.).
